AIM Conferences

The IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM) is an offspring flagship conference of TMech.  Inaugurated in 1997, AIM promotes activities in various areas of mechatronics by providing a forum for exchange of ideas, presentation of technical achievements, and discussion of future directions. After six successful biennial editions in Tokyo, Japan (1997), Atlanta, USA (1999), Como, Italy (2001), Port Island, Japan (2003), Monterey, USA (2005), and ETH Zurich, Switzerland (2007), the AIM Conference is now hosted annually.

The AIM conference invites submissions of high quality research papers describing original work on abstractions, algorithms, theories, methodologies, and case studies on the following topics: Actuators, Automotive Systems, Bioengineering, Data Storage Systems, Electronic Packaging, Fault Diagnosis, Human-Machine Interfaces, Industry Applications, Information Technology, Intelligent Systems, Machine Vision, Manufacturing, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, Micro/Nano Technology, Modeling and Design, Motion Vibration and Noise Control, Neural and Fuzzy Control, Opto-Electronic Systems, Prototyping, Real-Time and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation, Robotics, Sensors, System Integration, Transportation Systems, and other fields of mechatronics.  Papers in AIM Proceedings can be found in IEEE Xplore: Papers in Past AIM Conferences.

Inaugurated in 2008, the ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Division (DSCD) Mechatronics Technical Committee (TC-Mechatronics)  presents  two annual awards to recognize the best paper published in the conference proceedings and presented in sessions sponsored by the DSCD TC-Mechatronics. Authors of papers presented in the AIM conference are eligible.
